The Day That Changed My Musical Life...
Have you ever thought
about recording your own music at home but just
didn't know how to get started...
or didn't think it wouldn't sound
that good?
I admit, it seems like a daunting task if you've never done
it before.
Here's something that I've
NEVER told my online students...
The first time I ever recorded my guitar was in a full blown
professional studio in San Diego.
I was a NERVOUS WRECK for several reasons...
1. I had never been in a studio before so
I had no idea what
to expect.
2. Someone else was
paying for the studio time and I didn't
want them to feel I was wasting their money by not
performing efficiently.
3. The engineer had experience recording now world famous
rock bands that emerged from California and (although I
could play ok) I was nobody.
4. I knew the other
members in the band were depending on me
to crush it since we were recording "guitar oriented" rock
and roll music. (Drums, Bass, Guitars and Vocals)
The only thing that motivated me through my fear was keeping
my focus on the end result...
Something truly to be proud of...
professionally recorded
music of my band mates and me rockin' out!
AND BELIEVE ME... IT WAS WORTH IT.
We had spent so much time recording individual instruments
and parts of the music, I had no idea how it was going to
end up.
BUT the day we went in and did the final mix of the songs
was the day that changed my music life!
When the engineer had a pretty
close final mix put together, the
hair on my arms stood on end... I'm not kidding!
The drums sounded incredible...
The bass guitar was rich and full...
My rhythm guitar was heavy with sparkling chorus...
My lead guitar was smooth and clear...
And the vocals were shimmering out in front.
I literally almost cried because it
all sounded SO AWESOME!
From that day forward I was in love with writing and
recording my own music.
As a matter of fact, I was THAT guy who not only played all
the guitar parts, but
I also followed the engineer around
learning everything I could because I was so fascinated by
the entire process.
And now I want to share that process with you.
I recorded my critically acclaimed album "Living Digits" at
home as living proof that you can do it too!
You CAN make incredible sounding recordings right in the
comfort of your own home.
NO STUDIO CHARGING YOU BY THE HOUR...($100 and up is
typical)
NO SCHEDULE TO STICK TO... (record whenever you want to)
